The Economic, Social and Environmental Council has 175 members, representatives of active civil society.
ESEC members
The ESEC brings together 175 members, women and men with practical experience in their respective fields, appointed by intermediary bodies: associations, trade unions, employers’ organisations...
The ESEC member's are divided into 19 representative groups. Members are appointed by their organizations for a five-year term. Members cannot serve more than two consecutive terms. The members meet four times a month in plenary assembly
The 175 members are divided into 4 main divisions:
- Employees
- Companies, farmers, craftsmen, liberal professions, mutual societies, cooperatives and consular chambers
- Social and territorial cohesion and community life
- Protection of nature and the environment.
The ESEC is the most equal assembly : 46% of women and 54% of man.
