The sports economy is an ever-increasing focus of attention, both as regards the creation of wealth (expenditure on sport is in the neighbourhood of 40 billion euros in France and is rising rapidly) and the externalities, whether positive (health, wellbeing, social inclusion, etc.) or negative (doping, corruption, environmental damage, etc.) that it generates.
